We have weekend racing every fortnight. See calendar in the OCEAN MARINA section of this site. The cost per crew member on a Platu is 900 baht which covers two days racing, and the OCEAN MARINA entry fee of 400 baht, launching fees, contribution towards running costs, sails and charter fees.
Doug Smith is the co-ordinator and sends out regular emails for you to confirm attendance or not. If you are not receiving these emails contact Doug to put you on his list.

Doug takes into account your level of experience and designs each boat’s crew accordingly. The boats are super safe and will always have competent experienced skippers on board.
As well as cruising Saturdays we also have Sunday race days. Racing is competitive but friendly and the intention is to give everyone more experience on the water and have fun while doing so.
Platu Championship 2026
After the total success of the OCEAN MARINA Platu Championship 2025 we have decided to keep the same format for five Championship events in 2026. There is also an extra event in October directly following the last Championship round. The OMJ entry fee is 7500 baht each event to include the boat and all its crew.
