OMYC RESULTS 2023

OMYC Racing REPORT January 14/15 2023

What a great weekend. Champagne conditions greeted the crews and we welcomed Randy with his 44 foot catamaran for his first taste of the racing and friendship with the regular crews. Doug Smith worked his usual magic to get three Platus on the start line plus Mirrabooka, Grafitti and San Sanook. The sea was flat, the sun was shining and even the wind arrived to help us all enjoy a great weekend. K. Thammasak, our race officer, provided some good courses so that we all kept within sight of each other and racing and cruising classes finished races within five minutes of each other. The marks were exactly where they were supposed to be and the Committee boats control of proceedings was perfect.

5 races over the two days provided close, exciting racing and some match racing between the Platus.

Well done to Nathan on Platu 122, the weekends overall winner and Jan Speets, who worked hard to once again win the cruising class.

Accurate results were produced very quickly and the winners bottles were soon opened and shared by all. It is always a pleasure to see everyone at one table sharing our common love of the sport.

Thanks to Ocean Marina and Scott Finsten for providing the on water support.

Congratulations to K Thammasak for being such a good race officer.

Thanks to Doug for his hard work organizing the Platu crews.
